Complex Sentences

Today at literacy Room 6&7 reading made complex Sentences. A complex sentence is two simple sentences joined together. The two sentences have too be realated or about the same thing. there also need to have two verbs one verbin each sentence and don't forget the conjuction. I highlighted the words I used to create My complex sentences. please coment on what I can improve on.

The Attack of the Giants

The giants are sucking up the people with their vacuum cleaners as if they were aliens.

I was scared for my life as soon as I could I ran into the castle hoping they would not get me.

The Giants were wearing boots with a tank on there back for keeping the people in and they also had some gloves and a helmet on hiding there face.

The Castle was covered in sand it was a dull yellow with a prince and princess inside then… I got sucked up because I was stalling, I tried to climb out but I failed. THE END

SWEET FREASH BREAD!!!!

SWEET FREASH BREAD!!!!

Mmmm!! Sweet fresh bread!! Last week in class, Ponui-o-Toka read a big book about bread making. Then we made bread the next week. The reason why we did this was because we are learning about healthy eating for inquiry.

At the start of the day we made the dough but first we had to wash our hands because the teachers don’t want us sharing germs. Then we combined the ingredients together in a bowl while looking at the recipie. We mixed the yeast in a different bowl with water and Mrs Jack added in sugar and Mrs Jack mixed it with her HANDS!! Then we poured it into our other mixer and mixed it with a dough mixer.

The teacher kneaded the dough, when we are kneading all you are doing is just pushing down with the heel of your hand then folding over and repeating that process over and over again. While you are kneading you are spreading the air bubbles throughout your bread dough.

Then we put the dough in a bowl and cover it with a tea towel and wait 1 hour for it to rise in a warm space we left ours in room 6. I said “when will it be done rising i want to eat it” Mrs Jack preheated the oven.

I said to my friend “YAY!! Time to taste the scrumptious looking bread” When I tasted the first batch of bread it was really sweet I think that because Mrs Jack added a lot of sugar, The second batch tasted like a scone and both batches were crusty on the outside and soft inside.

I thought that the bread making was fun because we got to eat it in the end and it was scrumptious.

Room 6's fav popcical colors

For statistics we made a grath of any chose I chose pie grath. First I went on to a google spredsheet. Then I typed in all of our numbers and colors. Then I clicked create chart and I changed the colors aded the title and subtite and I was DONE!

Pink and white were both liked equally

1. PINK and WHITE were both liked equally.
2. GREEN was liked the most.

Last sunday at Nici’s house while the chocolate coulored dog was climbing on the window it made a loud and scary “WOOF!!”, it made me jump. The dog barked because he saw a grey cat strolling around inside.

Holiday Recount (Mega Air)

For writing we were told to write a recount about our weekend. I wrote about going to mega air because it was really fun.

Mega Air

“Whoooooo this is fun” is what I  thought the whole time. In the holidays I  went to Mega Air with Nana And Ryus. Mega Air is a indoor trampoline park.

First I went to the Dodgeball Pit and the people who started the game made it free for all (no rules) when we got into the game I  got hit in the face by the a ball and I thought really watch where you're aiming mate not cool, the balls are yellow with black stripes and are quite soft. I  had fun with Ryus (my brother) in the dodgeball pit but then I decided to leave because nobody was getting out and that's boring.

Next Ryus and I went to the Airbag and we raced he bet me out of the Airbag because I got stuck and I landed on my back and could not roll over, when I finally rolled over and got to the corner of the Airbag and got stuck but then… a man who was helping children out of the foam pit and Airbag helped me out of it, I  thought he was kind. Then I  went past the Airbag to the wall I  have never been up surprised my brother doing that. I t was hard but really fun.

Then I  played in the half pipe and fell a lot (half pipe is where there are three tramps two on the sides and one on the bottom) I  jumped around and had fun but then I  had to go home ryus. nana and I  got into the car and then I  got told that Ryus did not get hurt and that is newfangled (different from normal).

In the end I had fun because I got to go to mega air and have fun but mainly just because a man helped me out off the air bag.
